Yes, The Times March On, But Is It Going To Fast?

TITLE: Visiting Tom
AUTHOR: Michael Perry
GENRE: Nonfiction
PUBLISHER: Harper Perennial
PAGES: 310

I picked this one up in my library and was drawn to the cover. I skimmed over the summary on the back and looked forward to reading about a guy's life on the farm. Not that I have much interest in living on a farm or being a farmer, but reading about the people who do could be pretty cool, I mean, this guy wrote a book about Tom. Tom must have had a pretty interesting life!

Well interesting in the fact that his property suffered with population growth. Bits of Tom's life were discussed of course through the book, but the author spoke a lot about his life and trials (nothing too major though...) so I am glad that I read it but I thought there would be more.

Perry's thoughts about his life and family are sweet and remind me to think about the simple things and of course family. This book took me a few weeks to get through, mainly laziness, and letting other things get in the way, but also, it is not an exciting book. If you want a change of genre, to see how others live and like these 'memoirs' (is that the right word?) Then this is the book for you.

I give this a 3 out of 5.
