OMG! I forgot about Book Crossing!

So I am volunteering at my local library and of course encouraging people to visit and use the library is the what we are trying to get people to do. While I have set up bookstands with free books and a reminder to visit, I found that people seem to enjoy the bookstands. This reminded me about bookcrossing.com I joined this site years ago. No, I haven't found any books out in the 'wild' but I will release 2 books tonight.

For those who have never heard of this site, what you do is: if either find a book, it will be labeled with a BCID number. You enter that number into the site and whoever released it will know the book has been found. Now you can register a book of yours and release it. The instructions for how to get the BCID on easy to follow and of course there is a FAQ page.

So if this interests you, try it. There is a google maps and you can see when and where people have released their books.
