I'd love to have time to read the latest book, but life always points me in another reading direction...

The Strange Library Review
So I finished this book by Haruki Murakami about a week ago. My first Murakami. Not the best first impression...but I am interested in more from this author-he is very popular after all. This story is about a boy that finds himself in a very strange library and tries to escape. It's a short read and a great short story to add to my goodreads.com challenge for this year. I just wanted more fantasy or more drama just something more for this story.
I give this:

Closest thing to a real book post
So thinking about the past year, I did have some positive book experiences. Wee Man graciously signed a book a book he did not author (or was that last year???) I did get Chris Jericho to sign his book, "The Best In The World At What I Have No Idea at a book signing and R.A. Salvatore signed one of his books at a signing as well! Both of the authors/wrestlers/musicians etc were really nice and considerate. I really appreciate that. I can't even begin to guess how busy their schedules are and seeing these unreal people in real life just makes me happy.
I did for the first time visit the world famous city of Forks. Interesting place. Driving up there, I had no clue what to expect but if Twilight is what you are after then that is what you will get! I do recommend stopping by the visitor center as you enter town. There, any questions you may have can be answered and you are provided a map of the hotspots from book, like where the police station is and where the Cullens live. I ate at a great Mexican restaurant there too! I wish I could remember the name....I'll have to update later. But I enjoyed the trip. It is pretty cool visiting the place that is the inspiration for a really great series.
Well I hope you enjoy the pics. I will add more to this blog in the new year. Off to pass out from sipping my Jameson and watch a movie or two....

New Year soon...hard to get excited.
Another year down. I should be glad it's gone, but I worry that the new year will just be more of the same.
Today I didn't get any reading done. I did some book learning. That took my mind off some crap. Tonight though, I plan on reading. I am currently on page 167 in The Big Tiny by Dee Williams. If I stick with it, I shouldn't have any problems finishing this tonight. Since I don't watch T.V. (I actually gave my television to Goodwill about a month or two ago) and won't be calling anyone to wish them a happy New Year, I really shouldn't have any problems finishing.
Like last year, I need to try and prioritize for the new year. Everything! Since no one's time is guaranteed, I should live my life like that. It just gets hard. So no goals. Just priorities.
Which will be: reading-read more
fitness-work out. Get that ultra in!
education-Get that degree! (get into a school first!)
finances-stop spending on stupid crap!
travel-stop spending on the stupid crap so I can save money for gas and flying on anything that isn't United!
We will see how that works out.
Freak! Just realized, I can't get drunk and finish this book at the same time...well, decisions, decisions....

New blog, new post
So I learned a lot with the last blog. I intend to make this one a book blog too. Hopefully I can get a better workflow/rhythm going this time! I'm also learning about web design so I'd like to create a page that I totally design!
The last book I finished was Atlantia by Ally Condie. I'm not going into a full review, but I will say that I was really hoping for a lot more! Oh! A slight let down. Anyway, I came across it during a Barnes and Noble promotion months ago. The last water story I read was Monstrous Beauty by Elizabeth Fama, (and that is a great story!) so I decided to take the plunge (haha) with this one. Hmm....
Now I've started a few books at once like normal but I'm trying to just stay focused on The Big Tiny by Dee Williams. It's a memoir about how she decided to build her own tiny home. I'm not totally grabbed by the story. Maybe it's because I'd like to be reading some fantasy right now, but it does cover a topic that I'm personally interested in. So, I need to pay attention to what she says!
With my last blog, I kept it pretty much a book blog. I want this one more journal like. I want to talk about why I chose the books I did and keep it journal like. There are so many book bloggers out there and I need my own thing to stand out. I read very few book blogs. I prefer watching people on youtube do their reviews. I don't want to be on camera so I will have to settle on this. I probably won't be trying to come up with some creative way to do video where I don't have to be the center of attention.
So whoever finds this, I hope I can eventually put content you will want to come back and read.
Thank you for your time!
